My understanding is you can't install Kernel extensions on Big Sur and up unless you allow them too hence the security change. It would be great to figure this out, but we only have a few installs and none are on Apple Silicon, yet.

System extensions on macOS Catalina 10.15 and later allow software, such as network extensions and endpoint security solutions, to extend the functionality of macOS without requiring kernel-level access. Learn how to install and manage system extensions in user space instead of the kernel.
Legacy system extensions, also known as kernel extensions or kexts, execute in a highly privileged mode of the system. Starting with macOS High Sierra 10.13, a kernel extension must be approved by an administrator account or a Mobile Device Management (MDM) profile before it can load.
Kernel extensions that use previously deprecated and unsupported KPIs no longer load by default. You can use MDM to modify default policies to not show dialogs periodically and to allow the kernel extensions to load. For Mac computers with Apple silicon, you must first change the security policy.
Back before the functionality was available, and smartphones were still in their infancy, the only way to take a screenshot was to use a dedicated lens extension for your film camera. The ability to take screengrabs has been around since the 60s.
Developing as an extension of Snagit, it gives Snagit for Chrome in 2014, this plug-in for Chrome shares the similar functionality to its desktop counterparts. It lets you download free and take a still image or capture a video of the content on screen. The recorded content will be uploaded automatically to Google Drive for easy storage and retrieval. Accompanied with Snagit, Snagit editor is a basic image editing program. It allows you to use Snagit tool to edit effects and add styles for screenshot images.
Files with thumb file extension are used by SnagIt, an application for Microsoft Windows and OS X (macOS), which enables users to capture desktop screenshots and videos of activities on desktop.
Files with SNAG extension, just like any other file formats, can be found on any operating system. The files in question may be transferred to other devices, be it mobile or stationary, yet not all systems may be capable of properly handling such files.
If the SNAG file was sent to you by someone else, ask this person to resend the file to you. It is possible that the file has not been properly copied to a data storage and is incomplete and therefore cannot be opened. It could happen the the download process of file with SNAG extension was interrupted and the file data is defective. Download the file again from the same source.
If neither of the options above sound appealing to you, then you might be interested to learn that you can use a browser extension for Safari called Awesome Screenshot that makes the entire process a lot simpler.
With the built-in tools, I can either grab a screenshot and send to my clipboard or use the annotate tools and then use the built-in sharing extensions. Functionally, I can accomplish my needs using built-in tools, but I struggle with having to drag icons from the desktop into email or Slack continually. For me, all of the functionality is there, but the entire process could use some rethinking. Because I am spending a lot more time annotating screenshots, I went on the hunt for some new tools.
Gyazo is a cross-platform tool for taking full-scale screenshots by pressing the defined hotkeys. Unfortunately, the macOS users will have to install the Gyazo Chrome/Firefox extension to assign shortcuts quick captures. 2ff7e9595c
